Juan Carlos Ferrero, now retired, is one of the most famous and important players in the history of Spanish tennis. Upon retirement, Ferrero decided to join his lifelong coach Antonio Martínez Cascales in running the Juan Carlos Ferrero tennis academy.
Students at the academy work with Ferrero but work more closely with their own personal trainer and coach. Each player is assigned a personal trainer who creates personalized training plans for them and also presents them with a tournament calendar.
The academy features PlaySight SmartCourt technology which is the only camera-based sports system to provide live streaming, video, and analytics. Tennis SmartCourts can have up to 10 cameras which communicate and sync with each other so that players and coaches can analyze player performance from many different angles during playback.

Students at Brugera academy do many drills to practice attacking and defensive techniques and also work on balance and footwork. Then, they put what they learn during training sessions into practice. In total, students train for 30 hours a week with 3 hours a day dedicated to technical/ tactical skills and footwork and 2.5 hours a day dedicated to physical conditioning. The training facilities are top-of-the-line facilities with 16 hard-court tennis courts, a pool, a soccer field, and a gym.
The residency and the tennis courts are located on the same premises which means that students can walk back and forth from the courts to their dorm rooms. Rooms are shared between 2 and 6 students. Students have access to free WiFi. Meals are served buffet-style in the dining room located in the residence. There is also a laundry service 3 days of the week.
During the afternoons, students study English or Spanish as a foreign language making this camp the perfect experience for linguistic immersion. Full-time students study secondary school programs during the school year. In most cases credits can be transferred from the academy to the student’s original secondary school. American students even have the opportunity to continue studying with the American education system.

The IMG Academy, located in Florida USA, is one of the best tennis academies in the world. The academy features excellent facilities, an experienced coaching staff, and a large quantity of programs to choose from. The IMG Academy offers high-performance tennis camps during the summer for students 8 and 18 years old who want to get a taste of advanced tennis. During the full-year program, students live and train at the academy while continuing their education with the American educational system. After just a few years, the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy is already one of the most successful tennis academies in Europe. They also offer high-performance tennis camps for advanced students during the summer months.
The academy is located in the French Rivera in town called Biot, just a couple kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea. The academy facilities are the best and biggest in the world covering more than 30,000 square meters. They have 34 tennis courts – 17 sand/clay courts, 17 hard courts, 8 indoor courts, and 6 with PlaySight SmartCourt technology. They also have their own country club with a fitness center, a tennis store, a medical center, indoor and outdoor pools, conference rooms, and a cafeteria. Lastly, the academy also has a four-star hotel on its facilities.
Students at the Mouratoglou academy train for 4 hours a day and focus on technique and physical and mental conditioning. Trainers create a physical training plan for each participant and record their statistics to keep track of their improvement. They also plan tournaments for the students.
Full-year academy students attend classes for 18 hours a week and have the option to follow the American or French education systems. During the high-performance tennis camps during the summer months, students can take English or French classes.
